Frequently Asked Questions

Is it easy to set up my own Zoom service?

Yes. After you’ve chosen your Zoom plan, you can set up your modem and connection all by yourself in minutes using the simple instructions. If you need assistance, help is available.

How secure is my Zoom connection?
Your Zoom connection is very secure. Zoom operates state-of-the-art wireless equipment that support encryption and are produced by leading Wimax specialist Alvarion. The device authenticates using secured certificates which is embedded in the Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) and Base Station.

What factors could impact my ability to receive Zoom signals?
You must be within the Zoom service or coverage area to receive a signal. It is possible to be within the coverage area but not be able to receive a signal due to unusual geography or unexpected circumstances. If you are unable to receive signals within the coverage area, please report the location to customer support.

What plans are available and what are my data and bandwidth entitlements?
There is a range of Zoom plans to suit a variety of needs. Whether you are a light, medium or heavy user or whether you are a residential, business or student user, there is a plan to suit your needs. These can be found under Our Plans.

Is there a difference between Commercial and Residential broadband Plans?
Yes, and it’s quite big. For one, business-class is almost always symmetrical. That is, they supply the same bandwidth from the Internet to your computer – the “downstream” direction – as they do from your computer back to the Internet, or the “upstream,” channel. That can be very important when you need to send or receive a lot of information. The higher the bandwidth, the faster the files can be moved back and forth.
Residential services usually have significantly less upstream bandwidth. That, in turn, can make sending large files a more tedious, time-consuming exercise.
